For Clinicians and Researchers: Refer a Patient

To refer a patient:

•  Please contact Jackie Herrera at 212-342-4489 to schedule an appointment.

•  A consult form with reason for consultation can be faxed to 212-305-3172.

•  Dr. Pickering sees patients Mondays from 12pm to 4pm, Tuesdays from 8am to 12pm, and Thursdays from 12pm to 4pm. Dr. Ogedegbe see patients Tuesdays from 9am to 4pm. The clinic takes Medicare and other private insurances.

Some Indications for Considering Consultation by a Hypertension Expert for Individual Patients:

•  Refractory hypertension, not controlled adequately on two or more antihypertensive drugs

•  Suspected white coat hypertension with need for specialized tests (ambulatory BP monitoring or recorded home BPs)

•  Secondary hypertension (including rare genetic disorders) requiring special tests and interventions

•  Multi-drug therapy because of complex disease states such as some hypertensive patients with diabetes, asthma, pulmonary disease, or depression

•  Elderly hypertensive patients with symptoms impairing quality of life that may be related to adverse drug reactions or to underlying disease
